A Day of Prayer, Purpose & Promise

On Monday, January 18, 2021, Theta Pi Omega Chapter, of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, celebrated The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a powerful and uplifting program entitled, “A Day of Prayer, Purpose & Promise”. This virtual Community Impact Day, which included over 225 participants, celebrated the MANY contributions, life, and legacy of Dr. King. Participants were reminded of Dr. King’s dream for this nation through the keynote speaker, Rev. Dr. Christopher Betner, Sr., Lead Pastor of Delaware Valley Baptist Church East, and The Lifehouse Church. The program also featured musical selections from Mrs. Rosalyn Lawrence and Mr. Brennen Pritchett.

Theta Pi Omega also honored Dr. King’s legacy of service by supporting the work of three area non-profit organizations. Joseph’s House of Camden County, Sisterhood Inc. of Burlington County and Eleanor Corbett House of Gloucester County each were awarded financial donations to support their community work.

Special thanks are extended to the Theta Pi Omega Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee, Co-Chairmen Dana Clarke-Scott and Kimberly King-Webster for their leadership and President Minretta McFadden and 1st Vice President Tanya Y. Jackson for their guidance and support.
